Historic children's costume dating back to Operation Pied Piper at the start of WW2. British children were evacuated from their schools on September 1st 1939 - Two days before the start of the war. They were required to wear tags which signified they were part of the National Registration. Sometimes split apart from their families, these tags were important in order to reunite with the family after the war.
